♥ Catch the fish, keep it fresh.
I was thinking about the homework Leonard gave us at the session on friday. Think of one person who has made a great difference in our faith, and write them a letter. On friday night itself, 3people came to mind. The first gave me a tangible experience which changed me from a single-celled organism into a fish. The second one cast the line and got me on the hook to this community. The third one reeled me in.
But as I was blogging about it on my livejournal just now, I realised there was a fourth party involved in my being "caught". When you fish, you first cast your line. When the fish bites, you reel it in. When you've caught it, you put it in an icebox to keep it fresh. My icebox is this awesome community I've found myself a part of. This awesome community where I really learn more and more about our awesome God, and see the awesome things he does for all of us in our everyday life.
Amplify, especially Hospi, is my icebox, keeping my faith fresh. Not just keeping it fresh, but making it grow and become better. I was caught before and reeled in, but somehow the icebox was missing and I once again fell away from Church. Finding my place in the Hospi team is the anchor that keeps me rooted in Amplify. Without the Hospi team, I probably would have just fallen away from Amplify and Church already.
I thank all of you, for playing such an important part in my journey from being a fish to becoming a fisher.
